By using Pot & Prop at potandprop.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

A publication. Pot & Prop writes about plant stands, planters, propagation equipment, hanging hardware and grow lights, and links to retailers who sell them. It does not sell anything, hold stock, take payment or fulfill orders.

The load figures, specifically

This is the part of these terms that actually matters, so it is not buried. The weight figures on this site are computed estimates produced by the model described on the methodology page. They are not measurements. They do not account for your specific pot, your specific mix, your specific plant, the condition of your walls or ceiling, how a fixing was installed, or how it has aged.

• Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and published ratings for any hook, shelf, stand or fixing. Where our figures and theirs disagree, theirs govern the product.
• Our safety margin is a stated judgment, not a certified engineering standard, and it is not a substitute for one.
• You are responsible for what you hang and where. We recommend never hanging anything above a bed, a sofa, a cot or a desk, whatever any figure says.
• If you are unsure, do not hang it. Put it on the floor.

Product information

Specifications quoted on this site are taken from sellers' listings and are the seller's claims, not our measurements. Listings change, products are revised and items are discontinued. Always check the current listing before you buy. Prices shown are from a date-stamped data snapshot and are indicative only — the retailer's price at the moment of purchase is the one that applies.

Purchases are with the retailer

Every buy link sends you to a third-party retailer. Your purchase, payment, delivery, returns, warranty and any dispute are entirely between you and that retailer, under their terms. Pot & Prop is not a party to the transaction and cannot help with orders. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases, which is explained on the disclosure page.

Plant care information

Care guidance here is general information drawn from published extension-service references and is not advice about your specific plant, which we cannot see. Nothing on this site is veterinary or medical advice. The page about plants and cats points to the ASPCA's database as the authority and is not a substitute for contacting a vet.

Third-party links

We link to retailers, universities and extension services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the destination.

Content ownership

The text, tables, calculations and page structure on this site belong to Slate Mill Group. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. Republishing pages, or reproducing the reference tables wholesale, is not permitted without permission. Product images are hosted by the retailer and belong to their respective owners.

No warranty

This site is provided as is. We work hard to be accurate — every figure is computed from a published model and every source is linked — but we do not warrant that the site is free of errors or that any figure fits your circumstances. To the extent permitted by law, Slate Mill Group is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of this site or from products bought through it.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Tell us, and see the editorial policy for how corrections are handled.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
